I was flattered yesterday when someone actually stopped me to ask for directions (granted, I was no help because they were speaking French, but it means that I look like I'm Belgian! Or at least know what I'm doing. score!)
I added onto my toursity weekend by going to the Brussels mall yesterday (which is GIGANTIC! I has at least four floors--although it's not nearly as large as the King of Prussia mall by Villanova). Belgium only delegates certain times of the year for stores to have sales and January is one of those times. Basically this means that the mall was packed but that there were lots of great bargains (Although I didn't buy anything! I was very proud of myself). I also had a dinner of mussels. Mussels in Brussels its the thing to try. Although I actually didn't try it, just watched other people eat them. Maybe next time I'll be more up to trying shellfish.
Today I went to the Museum of Musical Instruments and to an Asian Art exhibition. I also had lunch with Heidi (my roommate) and together we had a delicious waffle topped with whipped cream, hot chocolate sauce, and strawberries. Possibly the most delicious waffle I've ever had (although the first one I tried was still very good).
Overall it's been great getting to see more of the city! And now I think I'm pretty much a pro when it comes to the Belgian metro system. Even though everything is only explained in French and Dutch.
