Dear Weather, hurry up and get warmer! Yesterday was especially rainy and cold-- I contented myself with a cup of hot chocolate, courtesy of the Valentine's Day package my mom sent. Thanks mom!
In other news, Vernacular, the Vesalius College Student Magazine, published its first issue of the semester along with an article by yours truly! "Operation Belgian Waffles" was mainly about my first impressions of Brussels--all of which I'm sure I've shared in the blog too. Still extremely exciting! I think my next article will have something to do with Carnival in Binche or Cologne...or both.
In French class, we have a project that involves visiting a local cafe and then doing a presentation about it in class. Tomorrow my friend Alex and I will be making our way to our assigned cafe in downtown Brussels and testing some delicious food. I'm excited! I'll try and leave an update on how it goes. Exploring the city is always fun. I've recently discovered how delicious baked goods are here, especially baguettes! Hopefully they'll have some good stuff where we're headed. The sandwich shop across from school makes sandwiches with fresh baguettes and they are SO GOOD! Highly recommend.
In the meantime, hoping the rain will stop for a bit.
au revoir!
